Writing the World understands a university field trip as an amorphous social arrangement that encompasses all participants. The multi-channel video focuses on the hands of the group. It’s an amassing of fragments that enables a jostling of roles, layers of performance, communication and observation. It’s a configuration that can change. This work was made with the School of Geography at the University of Melbourne. Thank you to Dr Lisa Palmer for sharing her work, and all the participants of the Timor-Leste field trip.
